The AEDC Board of Directors, appointed by the City Council, provides leadership to the Corporation and makes key decisions affecting the positive growth and economic development of Allen.  Deep appreciation is extended to the current Board members that continue this tradition of excellence.

TIM WOOD – President

Mr. Wood is the Supply Chain Optimization and Engineering Director for JCPenney.  Previously, he has served on the City of Allen Capital Improvements Program Committee.  He is currently serving on the AISD BEST committee.  Tim and his wife, Julie, have one son, Andy, and have lived in Allen since 1988.  (Photograph by Kenneth R. SUSAN BARTLEMAY – Vice President

Ms. Bartlemay is a pharmacist who came to Allen originally to open her own pharmacy.  She has been an Allen resident for more than 20 years and has always been an active member of the community.  She served on Allen City Council from 1998-2007, and as Mayor Pro Tem 2006-2007.  From 1995 to 1998, she served on Allen’s Planning and Zoning Commission and as Vice Chairman in 1996.  Susan has been active in the Allen Chamber of Commerce and was involved in the process of hiring the first executive director of the AEDC in 1992.

CARL CLEMENCICH – Secretary/Treasurer

Mr. Clemencich is a Certified Public Accountant with Match.com.  He has previously served on the Allen Community Development Corporation Board and Parks and Recreation Board.  Carl has been involved with the Boy Scouts, St Jude’s Food Pantry, and is an active volunteer with the Allen High School Escadrille.  He and wife, Laurie, and their 5 children have lived in Allen since 1994.  (Photograph by Kenneth R. GARY CAPLINGER – Director

Mr. Caplinger was elected to Allen City Council, Place No. 5, in May 2006.  He has served the City of Allen as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission (2000-2006), and currently serves on the Finance/Audit Committee.  He serves as the Allen City Council Liaison to the AEDC, as well as the Council Liaison to the Board of Adjustment, Building and Standards Commission and the Sign Control Board.  He is a graduate of Leadership Allen Class XI.  Mr. Caplinger is the owner of C-C Trophy & Engraving, Inc. and has been a resident of Allen since 1988.  He and his wife, Christine, have two sons.

 

SCOTT SUTHERLAND - Director

Mr. Sutherland is an experienced entrepreneur and business broker.  He previously founded and managed a successful technology company and has worked as a commercial real estate investor and partner.  Scott has served as President of the Allen Sunrise Rotary Club and a member of the Allen Community Outreach Advisory Board.  He is a graduate of Leadership Allen Class XXI and the Allen Citizens Fire Academy, and has worked as a youth soccer coach for over 20 years.  He and wife, Amber, and their 5 children have lived in Allen since 2005.  (Photograph by Kenneth R.
