Allen, Texas has a high level of excess electric generation and transmission capacity, as well as abundant fiber infrastructure. Sites are directly adjacent to two 138 kV (138,000 volt) transmission lines that run on a single pole structure. Sites are also located directly adjacent to an existing substation that has many megawatts of excess capacity. The Allen Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) has worked with local utilities to design additional substations and distribution infrastructure that would be constructed to support data center facilities. The AEDC can provide financial assistance to aid in the construction of electrical infrastructure required to support data center projects.
